We don't just teach young people about money. We teach them how to live well with it.
Financial instability isn't simply a math problem. It's influenced by behavior, mindset, stress, environment, relationships, and the decisions we make every day.
At BAM Foundation, we call this financial wellness.
We combine behavioral economics, financial education, mentorship, mental wellness, and community support to help young people and families build the knowledge, confidence, and habits they need to create lasting stability and opportunity.
Because knowing what to do with money is only the beginning. Knowing how to make it work for your life is financial wellness.

1 in 4 Arizona children live in poverty.
3 in 10 adults lack emergency savings.
But financial instability isn’t simply about how much money someone has. It’s about how people think, feel, and make decisions about money—especially when life gets hard.
It’s how we respond to scarcity.
How we handle stress and financial pressure.
How our emotions and biases influence our choices.
How we see our own worth and future.
And whether we have the knowledge, confidence, and support to make a different choice.
That’s why financial literacy alone isn’t enough.
That’s why BAM focuses on financial wellness.
Traditional financial education often starts with the numbers—budgets, credit scores, and balancing a checkbook. BAM starts with the person.
We meet junior high and high school students where they are, helping them understand the psychology behind their financial decisions, navigate the pressures shaping their choices, and build the confidence, habits, and roadmap they need for a financially well future.
Because knowing what to do with money is only the beginning.
BAM helps young people understand themselves—and build the tools to make money work for their lives.

We take financial wellness beyond the classroom.
BAM Foundation partners with community organizations, businesses, school districts, and municipal programs to bring practical, high-impact financial wellness education directly to the people and communities who need it most. Through partnerships such as the City of Chandler Neighborhood Resources Department and its Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program., we connect financial education with real-life opportunities to build stability, independence, and long-term wealth.
Our work is also recognized in the City of Chandler Housing and Redevelopment Strategic Plan 2025–2030, which identifies BAM Foundation as a community partner providing financial literacy sessions designed to advance financial independence and wealth-building.
Our program begins with Behavioral Economics because financial decisions aren’t just about math—they’re also about how our brains think, feel, and respond to the world around us.
We address the intersection of mental wellness and money head-on, helping students identify:
We don’t rely on textbooks and lectures alone. BAM creates engaging, interactive experiences that connect financial wellness to the fast-paced, digital world young people navigate every day.
BAM transforms complex financial concepts into engaging, hands-on experiences that help middle and high school students understand, practice, and apply what they learn.
By tackling the behavioral economics of "FOMO" and social comparison first, we normalize the conversation around money stress and financial anxiety, removing the shame often associated with lower-income backgrounds.
Our standalone, independent curriculum blends psychological insights with interactive learning. We proudly integrate open-source activities from Next Gen Personal Finance to keep students engaged from start to finish.

We’re building a movement of people who believe young people deserve more than financial information—they deserve real conversations, real connections, and people who can help them see what’s possible.
Do you have a story worth sharing? Maybe you’ve built a business, overcome financial challenges, navigated your career, learned from a mistake, or simply have life experience that could help a young person see themselves differently.
BAM invites like-minded individuals to step into the classroom as Guest Speakers and Mentors, sharing their experiences and connecting with middle and high school students in authentic, meaningful ways.
You don’t have to be a financial expert. You just need a story, a perspective, or an experience that could make a difference.
